My dearest readers,

Because of my internship and my other journalistic commitments, I won't have enough blogging-time left. And blogging - journalism seams like a rather hard combo to make after all. So this is where I leave you all, but it's no goodbye: see you in Belgian media everyone, stay on the lookout for my name line!

LIFE | journalist

Finally the pedal point of my year has arrived, my internship at Veerle Windels' office. Veerle is a celebrated fashion journalist in Belgium - where I live, so I'm beyond excited to be granted a peek into her professional life. As I see this internship as a stepping stone to my career, there was no doubt about me needing some business cards. I don't have a portfolio website yet, so the cards are 'incomplete'. That's why I opted for a minimal design for now, until I have more of a 'house style'.

DIY | studded all star

 

Trainers: Converse | Random studs | Nailpolish: Essie Cocktail Bling & random white polish

This DIY is one I've been planning to do for ages. I finally got around and I don't think I'll be tempted for quite some time now. Working with studs is a real pain, I tell you! I'm not a first-time-stud'er, but I tend to forget how they never cooperate. But if you keep on trying, you will win, I promise.

If you try this one - or have tried it already - it'll be great to see the results, so show me!

I love how my Converses have aged with me (they're seeing their third summer soon) and now I give them a second life with this punky look. So happy :)

Needed to shoot pics on this bizarre location. The graffiti < > the trees, grass and little flowers was just too amazing. Sadly the light wasn't equally great, leaving me with dull grey'ish snaps. But hey, you get the thought ;) ..

Every day I walk to school via the Royal Galleries in Brussels. And every day I see it. My dream bag. The Delvaux Madame .. I can't resist peeking through the Delvaux window every single time - the shop assistants must think I'm a little nuts by now. The chance I will ever own a Madame is minimal (even if I had the money I still couldn't decide on the color!), but I keep on visiting them, like the nutty girl I am ..

Is it just me or is this Delvaux Madame a (not that) far cousin of the Prounza Schouler (PS) 11? Both are elegant, beautifully crafted, box shaped, structured bags, both come in a gazillion colors and both are well on their way of getting a mythical IT-bag status. And, I love both! It must be boxy-bag-o'-clock ..

Summary of the weekend: dusted off my longboard yesterday, ill on the couch today (with a preview on Saturday). Let us all pray for bikini (or at least longboard-in-shorts) weather!

LIFE | when in rome #3

Welcome on day 4 of my Rome-trip (I promise we're almost through x)). This was the only sunny day we had, so the boyfriend and I didn't do much but enjoying ourselves and spraining our necks while staring at the Pantheon's oculus (awesome light on a sunny day - though I heard the Pantheon is quite majestic with the rain pouring through the roof as well).

These images of the trattoria where we ate the best breakfast ever, views from the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, tiny cars, funny notes, cosy streets and awesome staircases are all pretty self explanatory, so I just leave you with this.

Oh, and go eat some ice cream (gelato, to keep the Italian vibe), the weather is great!
